DescriptionPosition Title Electromechanical Manufacturing EngineerPosition Location Uxbridge Massachusetts HeadquartersPosition Type On-siteCompensation 100000 - 120000 Compensation depends on skills knowledge education and experiencePosition Snapshot The Electromechanical Manufacturing Engineer will plan implement and oversee strategic projects aimed at optimizing electromechanical manufacturing and final assembly processes for gearboxes gearmotors and related drive assemblies. This hands-on role will focus on production support troubleshooting process validation tooling and fixture development end -of-line testing and continuous improvement in an assembly environment. This position works closely with production quality design engineering maintenance supply chain and operations leadership to improve safety quality delivery cost and flow. About you Youre a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys being close to the production floor and improving how products are built. You are comfortable supporting assembly operations for electromechanical products such as gearboxes gearmotors motors drives or similar mechanicalelectrical assemblies.You can identify inefficiencies troubleshoot mechanical and electrical integration issues and take action to improve cost quality safety and flow. You understand how process variables such as torque mechanical fits alignment lubrication tooling fixtures and test methods impact final product performance. You are comfortable supporting new product introductions working cross-functionally and using Lean methodology and data-driven problem solving to keep production running smoothly.You can lead improvement work influence priorities mentor others and act as a go-to technical resource for manufacturing processes documentation equipment and corrective actions.A day in the life Serve as a senior technical resource for electromechanical assembly and production support for gearboxes gearmotors and related drive assemblies.Provide hands-on engineering support to production teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues involving assembly sequence tooling torque mechanical fits lubrication alignment wiring test performance and end-of-line quality.Lead medium-complexity process improvement projects focused on cost quality yield throughput cycle time downtime reduction ergonomics and production flow.Own manufacturing process capability for assigned assembly and test areas use data process observations and root cause analysis to identify variation and drive corrective actions.Develop validate and improve assembly processes work instructions standard operating procedures tooling fixtures test methods and production documentation.Support process validation and equipment qualification activities for assembly tooling fixtures test stands and end-of-line test equipment.Support line balancing standard work development workstation layout improvements and material flow improvements in a production assembly environment.Serve as a technical point of contact for new product introductions pilot builds production ramp activities and manufacturability feedback for gearbox and gearmotor assemblies.Create and maintain PFMEAs control plans work instructions SAP routings and other process quality documentation participate in audits as needed.Coordinate cross-functional corrective actions using structured problem-solving methods such as 8D 5-Why and other root cause analysis tools for recurring defects downtime drivers and production constraints.Partner with quality design engineering maintenance and operations leadership to resolve complex manufacturing issues and prevent recurrence.Support the selection improvement and acceptance of manufacturing equipment tooling fixtures test stands and production support systems contribute to capital project justification where appropriate.Train operations personnel on new or revised processes tooling fixtures equipment operation test procedures and quality expectations.Mentor Manufacturing Engineer team members technicians and production support resources provide technical review and approval for process changes documentation updates and training materials.Follow safety protocols and actively contribute to maintaining a safe organized and efficient production environment.RequirementsWhat you will needBachelors degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience preferred3-5 years experience in manufacturing continuous process improvement or engineering rolesEffective communication skills both written and verbalStrong knowledge of Lean Six SigmaDemonstrated experience leading process improvement initiatives and using datastatistical methods to drive decisionsProficient in CAD design for developing fixtures workbenches and tools to support manufacturingAbility to develop and maintain manufacturing documentation such as work instructions SOPs PFMEAs control plans process parameters equipment instructions and training materials.Ability to manage small projects prioritize tasks and communicate status to cross-functional stakeholdersProficiency with common manufacturing systems and documentation control e.g. ERPMES work instructions.SAP ERP experience preferredStrong commitment to quality and safetyExperience with motor and gearbox assembly preferredAbility to work independently and in a team-oriented environmentPerks of being part of our teamBlue Cross Blue Shield Medical Insurance - multiple plan optionsBlue Cross Blue Shield Dental InsuranceFSA HSA optionsVision Insurance401k with company match fully vestedPaid Time Off10 company paid holidaysCompany paid disability & AD&D insurance100 paid parental leave after one year of serviceSupplemental insurance plans Identity theft cyber protection additional life etc.Tuition reimbursementMany of our positions offer flexible schedules to meet your needsRelaxed business casual environmentSitStand desks for onsite office positionsFrequent team building activitiesCareer development opportunitiesAbout us Lenze is a global manufacturer of electrical and mechanical drives motion control and automation technology - offering products drive solutions complete automation systems and engineering services and tools from one single source.
