ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


Patient Care


  •  Welcome patients in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner. 
  •  Review patient information and treatment history before each appointment. 
  •  Confirm the treatment area and planned service. 
  •  Explain the laser hair removal process and what patients should expect during and after treatment. 
  •  Review pre-treatment and post-treatment instructions. 
  •  Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality. 
  •  Communicate any clinical concerns or unexpected reactions to the appropriate medical provider. 
Laser Hair Removal Treatments


  •  Perform laser hair removal treatments according to approved protocols and training. 
  •  Prepare the patient and treatment area appropriately before each procedure. 
  •  Operate laser hair removal equipment safely and according to manufacturer guidelines. 
  •  Select appropriate treatment settings based on established protocols and patient characteristics. 
  •  Perform treatments on approved areas, which may include: 
    •  Face 
    •  Upper lip 
    •  Chin 
    •  Neck 
    •  Underarms 
    •  Arms 
    •  Legs 
    •  Bikini area 
    •  Back 
    •  Chest 
    •  Other approved treatment areas 
  •  Monitor the patient's comfort and skin response throughout treatment. 
  •  Immediately stop treatment and notify the appropriate provider when an unexpected reaction or concern occurs. 
PATIENT SCREENING


Before treatment, the technician will:


  •  Complete required patient screening. 
  •  Review relevant medical and treatment history according to office protocol. 
  •  Identify potential contraindications or circumstances requiring provider review. 
  •  Ask about recent sun exposure, tanning, skin treatments, medications, and relevant skin conditions as required by office protocol. 
  •  Verify that the appropriate consent has been completed. 
  •  Refer patients to the medical provider when treatment requires clinical evaluation or clearance. 
LASER SAFETY & INFECTION CONTROL


The Laser Hair Removal Technician is responsible for:


  •  Following all applicable laser safety procedures. 
  •  Using required protective eyewear and personal protective equipment. 
  •  Following the manufacturer's operating and safety instructions. 
  •  Maintaining a safe treatment environment. 
  •  Cleaning and disinfecting treatment surfaces and equipment between patients. 
  •  Following infection-control procedures. 
  •  Reporting equipment malfunction or safety concerns immediately. 
  •  Following emergency procedures established by Aloha Anti Aging Institute. 
PATIENT EDUCATION


Provide patients with appropriate instructions regarding:


Before Treatment


  •  Shaving requirements 
  •  Sun exposure and tanning precautions 
  •  Products or treatments to avoid before treatment 
  •  Appropriate preparation of the treatment area 
  •  When the patient should contact the office before treatment 
After Treatment


  •  Expected temporary redness, swelling, or sensitivity 
  •  Skin-care recommendations 
  •  Sun protection 
  •  Products and activities to avoid 
  •  When to contact the office regarding an unexpected reaction 
  •  Recommended timing for future treatment sessions 
DOCUMENTATION


Accurately document each treatment in the patient's record, including:


  •  Date of treatment 
  •  Treatment area(s) 
  •  Equipment used 
  •  Treatment parameters/settings as required 
  •  Patient response 
  •  Skin reaction, if applicable 
  •  Patient education provided 
  •  Pre- and post-treatment instructions 
  •  Any complications or concerns 
  •  Follow-up recommendations 
CUSTOMER SERVICE & PATIENT EXPERIENCE


  •  Provide a professional and welcoming experience to every patient. 
  •  Establish positive relationships with patients while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. 
  •  Answer questions about laser hair removal within the technician's scope of training. 
  •  Communicate treatment information clearly and honestly. 
  •  Assist patients with scheduling future treatments. 
  •  Explain available treatment packages and services according to office policies. 
  •  Protect patient confidentiality at all times. 
TREATMENT ROOM & EQUIPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES


  •  Maintain a clean, organized, and professional treatment room. 
  •  Ensure necessary supplies are available before treatments. 
  •  Perform routine equipment checks. 
  •  Properly clean and store equipment after use. 
  •  Report equipment problems or maintenance needs to management. 
  •  Follow manufacturer recommendations for equipment care. 
  •  Monitor inventory and notify management when supplies need to be reordered. 
QUALIFICATIONS


Required:


  •  High school diploma or equivalent. 
  •  Appropriate laser hair removal training. 
  •  Demonstrated competency with the laser equipment used by the practice. 
  •  Ability to follow established treatment and safety protocols. 
  •  Strong communication and customer-service skills. 
  •  Professional appearance and demeanor. 
  •  Excellent attention to detail. 
Preferred:


  •  Previous experience as a laser hair removal technician. 
  •  Experience in a medical spa, aesthetic practice, dermatology office, or wellness facility. 
  •  Experience with multiple laser platforms. 
  •  Bilingual English/Spanish. 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  •  Ability to stand for extended periods. 
  •  Ability to move between treatment rooms and office areas. 
  •  Ability to assist patients with appropriate positioning. 
  •  Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements while operating equipment. 
  •  Ability to lift and move routine treatment supplies.
