Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Electro-Mechanical System Integration Engineer to support the development and integration of advanced motorized and automated equipment systems. This role bridges mechanical, electrical, controls, and software disciplines to ensure successful system bring-up, validation, and deployment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, experienced in motion control systems, and capable of troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical interactions in prototype and production environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead integration of electro-mechanical subsystems including motors, actuators, sensors, controllers, and safety devices.
Coordinate interfaces among mechanical, electrical, controls, and software engineering teams.
Support system architecture development, requirements definition, and integration planning.
Integrate and validate servo motors, stepper motors, encoders, limit switches, motor drives, power supplies, and communication networks.
Perform system bring-up, debugging, and troubleshooting during prototype development and qualification.
Develop and execute integration, functional, and validation test plans.
Investigate and resolve hardware, software, and system-level issues through root-cause analysis.
Verify machine safety functions, interlocks, alarms, and fault recovery sequences.
Support design reviews and ensure compliance with performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.
Generate and maintain engineering documentation including interface specifications, test reports, assembly procedures, and release documentation.
Support manufacturing, installation, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and field deployment activities as required.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of experience in electro-mechanical system integration, automation equipment, robotics, or motion control systems.
Strong hands-on experience with:
Servo and stepper motor systems
Motion controllers and motor drives
Encoders, sensors, and limit switches
Electrical wiring, schematics, and troubleshooting
Experience debugging integrated hardware and software systems.
Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and system interface documents.
Strong problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and technical communication skills.
Ability to work independently and effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with semiconductor, display, automation, robotics, or capital equipment industries.
Knowledge of PLCs, industrial communication protocols, EtherCAT, CAN, Modbus, or similar networks.
Experience developing system requirements, integration plans, and verification procedures.
Familiarity with machine safety standards, safety interlocks, and risk assessments.
Experience with system qualification, reliability testing, and production release processes.
Proficiency with CAD tools such as Creo, SolidWorks, or Inventor.
Desired Skills
Motion system sizing, tuning, and optimization.
Hardware and software limit implementation.
Safety interlock matrix development and validation.
FMEA and risk assessment execution.
Prototype build, test, and design verification.
Excellent collaboration and project execution skills in fast-paced development environments.
