    Position Scope

    Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for an Electro-mechanical maintenance technician, on 1st shift at our Allentown, PA manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical and electro-mechanical devices and components. You will also be responsible for repairing and replacing mechanical equipment, and preventive maintenance on plant machinery.

The successful candidate will be expected to be able to install, repair and maintain to ensure the machinery is operating at an optimum production level necessary to manufacture products for internal and external customers. This position also operates in a normal maintenance and manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature changes.

    Your additional responsibilities as an Electro-mechanical maintenance technician will include:

    • Trouble shoot electrical control and power distribution circuits.
    • Read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings and diagrams.
    • Assemble and disassemble equipment.
    • Read and interpret basic machine diagrams and plant layout drawings.
    • Perform preventative maintenance on assigned machinery and/or equipment.
    • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on the building and facility.
    • Recognize potential mechanical problems, plan a solution for repair, and implement the plan.
    • Assist with the calibration of all in-plant electrical equipment.
    • Maintain plant lighting systems, inside and outside of the building.
    • Run conduit and/or initiated new electrical circuits.

    Job Requirements:

    • Must have a minimum of 2 to 3 years' experience in industrial electrical systems including PLCs.
    • Must have a minimum of 2 to 3 years' experience in industrial mechanical systems.
    • Boiler and steam system experience is a plus.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Good attendance and punctuality are a must.
    • Work order experience in a CMMS program or SAP.
    • Ability to earn a Carpenter Co. Forklift Certification.
    • Ability to work on a boom or scissor lift at heights.
    • Must possess a variety of personally owned industrial/electrical hand tools.
    • Open to overtime and occasional Saturday work as needed.
