As an In‑Store Bagger (ISB) Technician at Reddy Ice, you’ll keep retail ice‑making and bagging machines online through sharp diagnostics, precise repairs, and proactive maintenance.     A call comes in: the bagger won’t cycle. You verify power, chase down a low‑voltage fault, confirm PLC logic, tighten a mechanical linkage, and check a plumbing connection. Minutes later, the unit is bagging smoothly—because you know how to bring multiple trades together to solve the problem.

    Role focus

    • Preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair for in‑store ice production and bagging equipment
    • Hands‑on work across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC/R systems
    • Low‑voltage controls and/or PLC interaction
    • Service reporting through handheld devices, following SOPs

    Requirements

    • Minimum 2+ years of service/repair experience in electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, or plumbing
    • Working knowledge of low‑voltage controls and/or programmable logic controllers
    • Valid operator’s/Class C driver’s license with an acceptable MVR
    • High school diploma or GED
    • Basic computer skills and comfort using handheld tools for documentation

    Preferred background

    • Journeyman certification/license in electrical, plumbing, or mechanical disciplines, or equivalent experience

    Where and how you’ll work

    You’ll work inside retail stores and frequently drive between store sites and the plant. Expect minimal travel with the possibility of overnight stays. Weekend, night, and holiday work are part of the schedule, and overtime may be needed. You must be able to lift 60 pounds, use installation lift equipment, climb ladders, and operate power tools. Success here means staying calm under pressure, building collaborative relationships, and thinking through complex business situations in a fast‑moving environment.
