    Description

    Electro-Mechanical Field Service Specialist

Imagine Mondays that start at the airport and Fridays that end back at home—most weekends yours. You thrive on solving tough electronics problems, meeting customers where they are, and keeping sophisticated systems running at their best across North America and select international sites.

    A Day in the Life

You arrive onsite, uncrate a new system, and bring it to life—installing, commissioning, and calibrating it to exact specifications. You verify performance, guide operators through safe and efficient use, and document your work. When equipment misbehaves, you dig into electrical, mechanical, and software layers to isolate faults and resolve issues fast. Back home, you rotate onto remote support—answering hotline calls, offering technical guidance, and preparing for the next trip.

    What You’ll Own

    • Install, commission, calibrate, and maintain complex customer equipment.
    • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to maximize uptime.
    • Verify systems operate to spec; support startups, acceptance testing, and production readiness.
    • Diagnose and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, and software-related faults onsite.
    • Provide remote technical support when not traveling; escalate complex cases appropriately.
    • Train operators, technicians, and maintenance teams on best practices and safe operation.
    • Deliver professional, customer-first service and clear communication at every step.
    • Complete detailed field service reports; track expenses; maintain accurate service records.
    • Feed service trends and recurring issues back to engineering and management.

    Travel Rhythm

    • Travel approximately 2–3 weeks per month.
    • Typical cadence: fly out Monday, support customer sites during the week, return Friday, home on weekends when schedules allow.
    • Up to 75% travel across North America, with occasional trips to Costa Rica and Puerto Rico.
    • Periodic assignments in Italy (some engagements may extend up to one month).

    What You Bring

    • Minimum 4 years of technician experience in one or more: electronics, industrial machinery service, automation systems, military technical roles, or equivalent technical field experience.
    • Strong electronics troubleshooting expertise (required).
    • Associate of Science in Electronics or 4 years of relevant technician experience; equivalent mixes of education, training, and experience considered.
    • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
    • Mechanical aptitude with solid hands-on troubleshooting skills.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
