Job Title: Electro/Mechanical/Electronic TechnicianJob Description

This role involves performing electrical and mechanical technical duties related to assembly, continuity testing, installation, operation, and maintenance of complex electronic assemblies. The position requires the assembly and wiring of electro-mechanical chassis, consoles, cables, and systems from manufacturing information and established procedures.


Responsibilities


+ Assemble and wire complete electro-mechanical assemblies using schematics and wire lists, forming cabling and routing per drawings.

+ Perform final cleanup and dress out, and conduct pre-quality inspections of chassis-type electro-mechanical assemblies.

+ Inspect assemblies according to IPC-A-620, FOD, and ESD procedures and requirements.

+ Execute final assembly on electro-mechanical chassis type assemblies, fitting and aligning mechanical and electrical components.

+ Build cable assemblies, cut wire to length, terminate crimp or solder connectors, and apply final heat shrink.

+ Perform circuit checks on completed assemblies.

+ Conduct refurbishment and modifications of fielded equipment, including bench repairs on defective items.

+ Execute engineering changes from revision notices and make repairs such as adding or removing wires or components.

+ Assemble various mechanical parts on airborne and ground chassis assemblies.

+ Optional electrician skills include installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of electrically operated equipment.

+ Perform routine maintenance on equipment in high places using man lifts.

+ Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.

+ Wire Line Replaceable Units with guidance from drawings, schematics, and wire lists.

+ Travel to headquarters in MD for shop environment setup insights.

+ Work independently with minimal supervision, ensuring quality and functionality of end unit assembly.

+ Collaborate in a high-paced, team environment with Engineering, Quality, and Logistics.


Essential Skills


+ Previous soldering certification to J-STD-001 and IPC-A-620.

+ Point-to-point wiring to schematics and wire lists.

+ Experience in setting up an electronics shop.

+ Proficiency in hydraulics, control circuits, aircraft electronics, software, VFDs, PLCs, low voltage electrical components, and electrical systems.

+ Ability to read schematics and blueprints.

+ Experience in aerospace assembly and disassembly.

+ High School graduate or equivalent.

+ Minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in assembling and wiring complex electro/mechanical units.

+ Computer skills required; MS Office suite preferred.


Additional Skills & Qualifications


+ Previous experience with automated machinery (VFDs or PLCs) is advantageous.

Work Environment

This position operates in a non-temperature-controlled environment. Work attire includes closed-toed shoes and casual dress. All shop work is conducted at the Elizabeth City, NC location.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.00/hr.
