    Core responsibilities

    • Perform mechanical disassembly/reassembly of complex products using independent judgment.
    • Teardown and fully rebuild used Tennant units.
    • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems; service battery systems; and work on air‑ and water‑cooled combustion engines plus diesel/gas/LP engines.
    • Execute in‑process quality checks; communicate status and results.
    • Identify, document, and communicate safety concerns.
    • Adjust builds to achieve quality and cost targets for every completed machine.
    • Assist across all phases of the reconditioning process.
    • Safely use, maintain, and report on company tools and equipment.
    • Keep the shop clean, safe, and organized via housekeeping and 5S.
    • Work proficiently on multiple sub‑assembly operations and shorter cycle main‑line stations.
    • Maintain a professional image; punctuality and reliable transportation are required.

    Growth & learning

    • Learn product details through self‑study, hands‑on repair, and guidance from the Shop Supervisor.
    • Expand diagnostic depth across electro‑mechanical and hydraulic domains.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
    • 3+ years of mobile equipment troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair.
    • History of working effectively with minimal supervision.
    • Competent with hand/power tools, shop equipment, and diagnostic devices.
    • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical assembly practices and procedures.
    • Continuous improvement mindset; related manufacturing experience preferred.

    Physical demands

    • Lift up to 40 lbs routinely; occasionally up to 90 lbs (assistance over 60 lbs).
    • Rotate among multiple positions throughout the shift.
    • Frequent sitting, standing, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
    • Daily bending, stooping, kneeling, or squatting (up to ~30%).
    • Medically able to perform all tasks safely.

    Environmental exposures

    • Near moving mechanical parts on a routine basis.
    • Occasional heat and non‑toxic fumes; moderate noise.
    • Occasional exposure to oil, grease, gasoline, dust, metal particles, and sharp‑edged materials.

    Safety requirements

    • Must be able to wear safety glasses, steel‑toed shoes, and hearing protection.
