Residential Service Electrician

Our client is a residential electrical service company based in Northwest Indiana that is growing and known for strong workmanship, safety standards, and a team-focused culture. The Position

Our client is looking for a Residential Service Electrician to join their field team. This role focuses on troubleshooting, repair, replacement, installation, and maintenance of residential electrical systems in occupied homes.

This is a full-time position with consistent work volume and a strong emphasis on professionalism, safety, and customer service.

Compensation

  • Commission-based earning structure with strong production potential
  • Typical annual earnings range from $93,000 to $181,000 depending on performance and experience
  • New hires start on a negotiable hourly base pay during training and ramp-up period
  • Additional compensation for after-hours calls
  • Additional compensation for holiday work
  • Overtime opportunities available based on business needs and dispatch volume

Schedule

  • Full-time field service position
  • Monday through Friday schedule with rotating on-call duties shared among all electricians
  • Occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of the call rotation
  • Overtime and after-hours work available based on business needs and emergency service demand

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and install residential electrical systems and components
  • Work on panels, breakers, wiring, lighting, outlets, GFCI and AFCI devices, grounding systems, and related equipment
  • Perform safety inspections and identify code or hazard-related concerns
  • Communicate findings, repair options, and recommendations clearly to homeowners
  • Maintain professionalism while working in occupied residential environments
  • Complete accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and job details
  • Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements
  • Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized company vehicle and job site
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule for emergency service
  • Support team members and participate in training and company meetings as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of electrical experience preferred, with residential service experience strongly preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in residential electrical systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively with homeowners in a clear and professional manner
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a field team
  • Willingness to work rotating on-call shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when scheduled
