    Description

    • Attention all Local 95 Union Candidates*

    Maintain, repair, and install electrical equipment in the hospital buildings, as per any applicable codes and standards.

    Responsibilities:

    • Replace faulty switches, sockets, fuses, insulators, and other elements of electrical systems, fixtures and appliances.

    • Inspect, test, and repair electrical circuits, lighting, signal, communication, control and power circuits and equipment.

    • Accountable for the safe operation and maintenance of the hospital's electrical systems and equipment.

    • Record personal work orders and submit hours to supervisor on a daily basis.

    • Order material necessary for any job.

    • Responsible for setting-up appropriate level of infection control containment (ICRA based on risk level, maintaining the integrity of that containment, and performing all work following infection control procedures.

    • Repair and/or install conduit, fittings, motors, generators, transformers, electrical wiring and a variety of appliances and hospital equipment.

    • Isolate defective wiring, switches, motor and other electrical equipment.

    • Operate switchgear and electrical machinery.

    • Install new wiring and electrical machinery.

    • Repair and maintain building fire alarm system as per NFPA standards.

    • High school diploma or GED required.

    • Trade school, Vo-Tech or union approved apprenticeship required.

    • Minimum three (3 years of electrician field experience required. Previous hospital or industrial work experience preferred

    • Ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical diagrams required.

    • Knowledge of City, State and Federal codes is required
