POSITION SUMMARY: Pilgrim's in Sumter is looking for a licensed Electrician or Journeyman Electrician to support plant electrical systems, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and control system reliability. Resume required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned
Learn, follow, help teach, and reform the Maintenance Pillars Process.
Troubleshoot electrical systems throughout the plant.
Help maintain electrical equipment through PM procedures.
Assist with developing and engineering new control systems.
Research and develop better controls and electrical processes.
Provide diagnostic root cause feedback to eliminate / minimize repeat failure occurrences.
Track and monitor recurring problems and provide solutions to correct them.
Identify weaknesses in the equipment related to electrical systems and develop solutions.
Understand the technical functionality of electrical equipment and be able to train operators and maintenance technicians on proper operation and troubleshooting.
Assist maintenance personnel in maintaining an efficient production operation and all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
EXPECTATIONS - All Team Members
Qualified candidates should be able to troubleshoot plant electrical systems, read schematics, support preventive maintenance, and work safely in a production environment.
Observe & enforce all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that supports effective and cooperative work with customers, clients, coworkers, and leadership teams.
Participates in process improvement and problem solving utilizing continuous improvement and rational thinking methodologies such as Six Sigma.
Recognize and act on incidents and safety risks. Consistently practice and enforce safe work habits and drive those habits throughout the organization.
Basic understanding of 120V, 240V, 480V electrical distribution.
Basic understanding of 24V DC and 120V AC control systems including safety devices, interlocks, proximity sensors, limit switches, and photo-eyes.
Basic understanding of electrical cabinet components and purposes, including PLCs, VFDs, relays, and related components.
Experience troubleshooting complex electrical systems.
Experience sizing conductors, installing conduit, pulling wire, and terminating conductors.
Basic understanding of programming and troubleshooting programs.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE EXPECTATIONS:
- Industrial Electrician License or Journeyman Electrician License with industrial electrical experience and extensive schematic reading capability.
- Other electrical certifications, including technical college and manufacturing certifications.
- Use a computer or maintenance system to review daily assigned tasks, update work order status, and enter completed work information.
- Preferred 3-5 years of documented experience.
