    Long Term Open Ended Contract

    $22.35 per hour

    The Electrical Validation Technician is responsible for executing electrical and environmental validation activities for Nexteer Automotives electronic steering systems. This role ensures that all products meet applicable automotive specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards. The engineer will utilize industry-standard test equipment including thermal chambers to perform validation testing, analyze results, and support cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle. Execute electrical validation test plans in accordance with program requirements and automotive industry standards. -Interpret and apply relevant automotive specifications (SAE, ISO, OEM-specific requirements) to ensure compliance in all validation activities. -Operate and maintain thermal chambers, environmental test systems, and electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, and data acquisition tools. -Conduct environmental and electrical testing including thermal cycling, high/low temperature operation, humidity exposure, and electrical load testing. -Analyze test data, identify deviations or failures, and collaborate with engineering team to support root-cause analysis and corrective actions. -Prepare detailed technical reports summarizing test results and observations. -Support development of automated test methods and fixtures to improve efficiency and repeatability. -Ensure all validation activities comply with Nexteer Automotives quality processes, safety standards, and documentation requirements.

    Skills Required

    -Exposure to electrical validation, hardware testing, or product verification in an automotive or similar regulated environment. -Working knowledge of automotive specifications, standards, and OEM requirements. -Proficiency with electrical and environmental test equipment, including thermal chambers. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets. -Effective written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation.

    Skills Preferred

    -Exposure to electrical validation, hardware testing, or product verification in an automotive or similar regulated environment. -Working knowledge of automotive specifications, standards, and OEM requirements. -Proficiency with electrical and environmental test equipment, including thermal chambers. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets. -Effective written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation.

    Experience Required

    0-3 years of experience in a related field. This is a entry level position.

    Experience Preferred

    Education Required

    Associates degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering

    Additional Information

    -Work is performed in both office and laboratory environments. -Ability to operate test equipment and handle components in thermal chambers and environmental test setups. -Occasional travel may be required to support program activities or external testing. -Must be able to work in a lab environment, stand and walk for most of a shift, as well as lift up to 10-20lbs frequently. -Overtime and some flexible scheduling are required to meet the demands of this position.
