Operating from our 500,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Williamsburg, Virginia, we aim to double in size each year for the next three years.
Position Purpose
As an Electrical Test Technician, you will serve as the final quality gate before mission-critical power distribution equipment is delivered to customers. You will perform electrical testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting on switchgear, PDUs, and RPPs to ensure every product meets engineering specifications, safety standards, and customer requirements.
*Position is on-site in Williamsburg VA from 7am - 3:30pm EST
Key Responsibilities
- Perform functional, electrical, and mechanical testing on low-voltage switchgear, Power Distribution Units (PDUs), Remote Power Panels (RPPs), and related power distribution equipment.
- Verify wiring, torque values, component installation, and product configuration against engineering drawings, schematics, and manufacturing specifications.
- Conduct electrical tests including insulation resistance, continuity, operational, and high-potential (hi-pot) testing to validate product quality and performance.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and wiring issues identified during testing and work with production teams to drive timely resolution.
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Factory Witness Testing (FWT), and other customer validation activities to ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Accurately document test results, quality records, corrective actions, and non-conformance reports.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate testing equipment including multimeters, insulation resistance testers, hi-pot testers, and other diagnostic tools.
- Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, process efficiency, and workplace safety.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Power Distribution, Electronics, Industrial Technology, or a related field OR a minimum of three (3) years of experience in an electrical testing, electrical technician, or related role.
- Experience performing electrical testing, inspection, troubleshooting, or validation activities in a manufacturing, assembly, or industrial environment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
- Experience using electrical test and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, insulation resistance testers, continuity testers, and hi-pot testers.
- Understanding of electrical power distribution systems and products, including switchgear, switchboards, Power Distribution Units (PDUs), Remote Power Panels (RPPs), or similar equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately document test results, inspections, and non-conformance findings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with customers, inspectors, and internal teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- NFPA 70E certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
- Familiarity with electrical power distribution industry standards and compliance requirements, including UL, NEMA, ANSI, NETA, and NFPA 70E, as well as product standards such as UL 891, UL 62368-1, UL 508A, UL 67, UL 1008, UL 1008S, and UL 1558.
