Johnson Service Group is looking for an
Electrical Test Engineer LabView with minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, embedded systems, or electronic test development, preferably within the aerospace or defense industry. This is a Direct Job for an Aerospace Company in Chatsworth, CA.
Salary: $90K Position Summary
This position offers the opportunity to work on advanced aerospace technologies supporting both flight and simulator instrumentation, while contributing to products that demand precision, reliability, and engineering excellence.
Top Priorities of the Role
The six areas below are the most critical focus of this position:
- Design & Validate: Design, develop, implement, and validate electrical systems, embedded software, and automated test equipment for aerospace applications.
- Certification Support: Support product certification activities through technical documentation, and develop Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), test programs, and test fixtures.
- Component-Level Diagnosis: Diagnose circuit assembly failures to the component level and perform repairs using standard electronic test equipment.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, engineering reports, and design records.
- Troubleshooting & Bench Testing: Apply strong electronic troubleshooting and bench-testing skills.
- Test Equipment Proficiency: Use oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, and other electronic test equipment, such as LabVIEW.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, embedded systems, or electronic test development, preferably within the aerospace or defense industry.
- Ability to perform unit, integration, and system-level testing to verify product functionality, reliability, and compliance.
- Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and optimize electrical hardware, embedded software, and production assemblies to improve system performance and reliability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective engineering solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within cross-functional engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop high-reliability systems that meet rigorous aerospace performance, quality, and safety standards, including AS9100 requirements.
- Strong experience designing and developing embedded electronic systems.
- Proficiency with embedded microprocessors using C language.
- Proficiency with CPLDs and FPGAs (VHDL, Verilog).
- Proficiency in digital and analog circuit design.
- Proficiency in PCB design and layout using Altium Designer (or other PCB design software).
Additional Responsibilities (Preferred Experience)
- Design electrical and electronic solutions based on customer requirements and product specifications for aircraft flight and simulator instrumentation.
- Develop and improve manufacturing and production test equipment, processes, and procedures to enhance product quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with systems, hardware, software, and project engineering teams to define product requirements and system architecture.
- Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, peer reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to products and engineering processes.
- Perform other engineering-related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally and up to 15 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work with electronic tools, laboratory equipment, and test instrumentation.
- Ability to work at a computer and on the production floor as required.
