Technical Superintendent – Prism Electric System Reliability Services (SRS)

Responsibilities: 

• Lead, manage, and hold accountable (LMA) all assigned field personnel and technician crews.
• Provide leadership and direction to Level I–IV technicians across multiple service lines and project engagements.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and development discussions with field personnel.
• Promote a positive, high-performance culture aligned with Prism’s core values and safety standards.
• Manage multiple field crews and complex power systems projects from mobilization through completion.
• Coordinate daily and weekly manpower schedules and technician assignments.
• Assist Project Managers and Operations leadership with planning, resourcing, and execution of service projects.
• Track project progress and communicate schedule, resource, or operational concerns.
• Support preparation of project documentation, commissioning records, testing reports, and field service reports.
• Perform and oversee acceptance and maintenance testing of low, medium, and high-voltage electrical distribution systems.
• Serve as the technical authority on-site for troubleshooting, diagnostics, and power systems analysis.
• Review and approve detailed field service reports to ensure quality and compliance.
• Coordinate with engineering teams on arc flash studies, relay protection, medium-voltage testing, and commissioning projects.
• Champion Prism’s zero-harm safety culture and enforce all safety requirements.
• Lead Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), arc flash assessments, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E requirements, PPE standards, energized work permits, and electrical safety practices.
• Partner with Safety leadership on incident investigations, corrective actions, and training initiatives.
• Serve as the primary mentor and technical resource for Level I, II, and III technicians.
• Provide hands-on training and development in testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and safety practices.
• Support technician progression and career development through competency-based training.
• Represent Prism professionally as the primary technical point of contact for customers, engineers, and facility managers.
• Address technical questions and field concerns while escalating commercial matters appropriately.
• Identify additional service opportunities and communicate them to Operations and Business Development leadership.
• Manage labor utilization, technician productivity, and workforce deployment.
• Prepare labor forecasting, utilization reports, and manpower planning recommendations.
• Support expansion efforts and operational growth initiatives as assigned.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements: 

• Minimum 10–15 years of electrical testing and power systems experience.
• Minimum 3–5 years of leadership, supervisory, or crew management experience.
• Strong knowledge of low, medium, and high-voltage electrical distribution systems.
• Experience with switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, relays, motors, ATS, UPS, and PDU systems.
• Ability to interpret complex testing data, troubleshoot electrical systems, and develop technical reports.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 70E, electrical safety standards, arc flash requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Experience leading multiple field crews in a high-performance, safety-focused environment.
• Relevant electrical trade license and/or state certification required.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Strong verbal, written, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, engineers, contractors, and internal teams.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability and willingness to travel throughout the DFW Metroplex and other regional markets as needed.

The job requires working in all elements depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, and other environmental conditions. Wear personal protective equipment including hard hat, safety glasses, arc flash PPE, gloves, and respiratory protection when required. Must be able to work extended hours, overtime, weekends, and occasional on-call assignments as required. Includes standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to routinely lift objects weighing more than 50 pounds. Work will be performed in industrial facilities, commercial buildings, healthcare environments, data centers, substations, and energized electrical environments.
