    Position Summary



    The Electrical Service Technician / Special Projects Technician performs troubleshooting, repair,

    maintenance, and installation of electrical systems for our residential / commercial / industrial customers,

    while also taking a lead role on non-routine assignments such as panel upgrades, retrofits, tenant

    improvements, and other special projects. This role is ideal for a licensed journeyman electrician who is a

    hands-on problem solver, works well independently on service calls, communicates clearly with customers,

    and can shift between day-to-day service work and longer-term project work.



    Key Responsibilities



    Electrical Service & Maintenance

    • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems including panels, breakers, branch circuits,

    lighting, receptacles, motors, controls, and low-voltage systems

    • Perform service calls independently, including occasional after-hours or emergency/on-call work
    • Conduct preventive maintenance, electrical inspections, and code-compliance corrections
    • Install, replace, and upgrade electrical equipment such as panels, transformers, disconnects, and lighting

    fixtures, EV chargers, and generators

    • Complete accurate service reports, work orders, material lists, and permit documentation using [company

    software/system]

    • Maintain company vehicle, tools, test equipment, and parts inventory

     

    Special Projects

    • Plan and execute non-routine work such as service upgrades, panel changeouts, tenant buildouts,

    equipment installations, lighting retrofits, and control system upgrades

    • Read and interpret blueprints, one-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and specifications
    • Perform load calculations, develop material lists, and assist with estimating and job scoping
    • Coordinate with management, inspectors, general contractors, other trades, and customers on

    scheduling and scope

    • Lead or assist apprentices and helpers on project work; verify work meets NEC and local code

    requirements

    • See projects through inspection, completion, and customer sign-off

     

    Customer Service & Safety

    • Serve as a professional, courteous representative of the company at customer sites
    • Explain diagnoses, repairs, options, and recommendations to customers in clear, non-technical terms
    • Follow all company, OSHA, and NFPA 70E safety standards, including lockout/tagout, arc-flash

    protection, and proper PPE use

    • Identify and communicate opportunities for additional service, upgrades, or replacements

     

    Qualifications



    Required

    • Active Journeyman Electrician license in Colorado (must be current and in good standing)
    • 4+ years of electrical experience, including residential / commercial / industrial service work
    • Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codes
    • Proven troubleshooting skills on single-phase and three-phase systems
    • Ability to read blueprints, one-lines, and wiring schematics
    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
    • Ability to work independently, manage time across multiple service calls, and pass a background check

    and drug screen

     

    Preferred

    • Experience with motor controls, PLCs, generators, EV charging, fire alarm, solar.
    • Estimating or lead/foreman experience
    • OSHA 10/30 certification
    • Basic computer skills (work order software, email, mobile apps)

     

    Physical Requirements & Work Environment

    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and work in varied environments (attics, crawlspaces, mechanical

    rooms, outdoors, heights, confined spaces)

    • Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working from lifts or scaffolding
    • Daily travel to job sites within service area;
    • Participation in on-call rotation [edit as applicable]
