Electrical Service Technician

We are seeking a skilled Residential Electrical Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and installing electrical systems and components in residential settings. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform electrical service calls, including troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues in residential homes.
• Install, maintain, and upgrade electrical systems, including wiring, outlets, switches, and lighting fixtures.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes.
• Provide exceptional customer service and communicate clearly with clients regarding their electrical needs and solutions.
• Conduct inspections and assessments of electrical systems to identify potential issues and ensure safety.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job.
• Collaborate with other technicians and team members to ensure efficient job completion.
• Stay up-to-date with industry standards, trends, and safety practices.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of residential electrical experience
• Preferred: Licensed Wireman or Journeyman Electrician
• Strong customer service and people skills
• Previous experience working in a residential service department
• Completion of an electrical apprenticeship program preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and safety protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Work Environment:

This position operates in an office environment and requires the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. Frequently operates a computer and other standard office equipment.  Occasionally moves items up to 20 pounds. Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information with internal and external stakeholders is required. Must be able to work under centrally controlled fluorescent lighting.
