Quality Assurance Representative (QAR) – Electrical in Manassas, VA
- $45/hr. – $50/hr. + $750/week per diem
- Contract role; On-site
We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Quality Assurance Representative (QAR) to support a major high-tech construction project in Manassas, VA.
This is a hands-on field position for someone who knows electrical construction, understands the language of the trades, and can confidently work between contractors, construction management, engineering, designers, and tool owners.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Inspect materials prior to installation or use to verify compliance with fabrication and project specifications
- Perform field inspections and equipment signoffs to ensure installations meet project requirements
- Verify electrical installations against master specifications, standard installation details, applicable codes, and industry standards
- Review electrical work packages, SIPPs, JHAs, and other required documentation
- Verify COHE is completed before voltage checks are performed
- Support electrical QAR requirements and drive field issues through resolution
- Work directly with contractor supervision and trades to address installation and quality concerns
- Identify and help resolve construction issues before they impact schedule or system operation
- Respond to discipline-specific RFIs and technical construction questions
- Participate in SOP activities and perform SIPP and Pre-Task Plan compliance audits
- Support trade coordination, prefacilities readiness, construction sequencing, and area layout requirements
- Track field hours and assist with earned-value assessment
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous QA/QC experience on major high-tech construction projects or semiconductor facilities
- Journeyman-level electrical trade experience
- Minimum 5 years of commercial electrical experience OR 2 years of industrial experience involving medium- and low-voltage systems
- Foreman experience leading and directing quality electrical work
- Instrumentation & Controls experience
- Strong working knowledge of the NEC and electrical specifications
- Strong knowledge of local and national codes, construction drawings, symbols, and accepted industry practices
- Ability to read and understand tool drawing sets and resolve field construction issues
- OSHA 30 and NFPA 70E certifications
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with trades, designers, engineers, and tool owners
- Experience in semiconductor/microchip, data center, or life sciences construction is a plus.
- Desired professional affiliations/certifications include ASSE (American Society of Safety Engineers) and IAEI (International Association of Electrical Inspectors).
