    Description

    As a key member of our integrated architecture and engineering team, the Electrical Project Technician supports the delivery of high-quality design documentation and contributes to the technical excellence of our built environment projects. This role plays a pivotal part in translating conceptual design into construction-ready documentation while upholding firm-wide BIM/CAD standards and workflows. Working in close coordination with project architects, engineers, designers, and external consultants, the Electrical Project Technician ensures accuracy, clarity, and efficiency of our design outputs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Technical Documentation & Drafting

    Prepare, assemble, and manage project drawing sets using AutoCAD and Revit in compliance with office standards. Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings for architectural and engineering disciplines under the direction of the Project Designer. Assist in developing project-specific BIM/CAD templates and family components as needed.

    Project Support & Coordination

    Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project designers to ensure accurate interpretation of design intent. Coordinate with consultants and vendors for file exchange and integration of technical content into project documents. Assist in the production of construction drawing schedules and document deliverables.

    Quality Assurance & Standards

    Maintain consistency in drawing standards, symbols, and documentation methods across projects. Participate in internal QA/QC reviews, checking documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to firm and client requirements. Organize and maintain digital and physical project files for ongoing and archived work.

    Production & Delivery

    Prepare drawing sets for printing, plotting, and digital distribution. Oversee coordination of final package deliverables, including internal/external print jobs, uploads, and document control.

    Education & Experience Requirements:

    Associate or technical degree in Architectural Technology, Drafting & Design, or a related field, preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered. 3+ years of experience in a similar role within an architectural, engineering, or construction environment, required. Experience in Revit and/or AutoCAD, required. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), preferred. Experience with tools such as Bluebeam, and SketchUp, preferred.

    Physical Demands:

    Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required. Occasional travel may be required. Occasionally required to stand; walk; climb, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
