Electrical Project Manager - Electrical Construction - Base Salary to 200k/year - Elk Grove Village, IL
- Our client is an established electrical contractor serving the Chicagoland area, specializing in commercial, industrial, multi-tenant residential, and mission-critical electrical construction projects. They are seeking an Electrical Project Manager to coordinate electrical construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout.
- This position supports field operations and preconstruction, working with IBEW foremen, superintendents, general contractors, and project owners. Responsibilities include electrical project coordination, cost tracking, procurement, scheduling, and documentation across active union construction projects throughout the Chicagoland area.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate awarded electrical construction projects, including commercial, industrial, multi-tenant residential, and mission-critical electrical installations.
- Coordinate project submittals, requests for information (RFIs), change orders, change events, material procurement, and construction schedules.
- Track project budgets, labor hours, productivity, and actual versus estimated costs, including buyout records and purchase order (PO) logs.
- Review electrical construction drawings, blueprints, single-line diagrams, riser diagrams, specifications, and equipment submittals.
- Coordinate electrical materials, equipment deliveries, prefabrication requests, rentals, and tools with field personnel.
- Work with IBEW foremen, superintendents, general contractors, and owners to coordinate field activities, project milestones, and electrical installations.
- Maintain project meeting minutes, action items, look-ahead schedules, and construction documentation.
- Support electrical construction safety, National Electrical Code (NEC) compliance, jobsite inspections, and punch list completion.
- Coordinate project closeout documentation, including operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals, as-built drawings, and required training documentation.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in electrical construction, either in office-based project coordination or field operations, OR an Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) or Construction Management (CM) degree with relevant internships.
- Experience reading and interpreting electrical construction blueprints, single-line diagrams, riser diagrams, technical specifications, and submittals.
- Working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) fundamentals, commercial and multi-tenant residential electrical systems, electrical assemblies, and electrical distribution equipment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for project documentation, reporting, scheduling, and cost tracking.
- Ability to work at active construction sites and travel to project locations throughout the Chicagoland area.
- Ability to meet company driving requirements in accordance with applicable laws.
Compensation:
- Base salary in the 100k - 200k/year range
