POSITION SUMMARY:
  • We are seeking a degreed Electrical Project Engineer to join a fast-paced, quality-driven environment within a growing organization. The successful candidate will collaborate with senior engineering staff from initial conceptual design through construction and commissioning for both large and small facility projects.

  • Typical assignments involve facilities engineering and design projects across industries such as education, public works, water/wastewater, transportation, transit, healthcare, and aviation. We are looking for candidates with experience in building electrical systems, including:
  1. Lighting, power, and emergency power distribution
  2. Fire alarm systems
  3. Security, CCTV, and access control
  4. Communication systems
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform design computations.
  • Develop designs in compliance with client specifications, using design software and drafting tools.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates.
  • Compile contract plans, specifications, and estimates.
  • Attend client meetings.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to meet deadlines and quality standards.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5–10 years of experience in electrical power distribution, power generation, motor controls, lighting/fire alarm design, telecommunications, or security systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and discipline-specific design software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with NEC, IBC, and NFPA codes for electrical design.
  • Must pass a Motor Vehicle Record screening.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Office (90%): Sedentary work with standard lighting/temperature.
  • Field (10%): Occasional outdoor work in varying weather; may involve lifting (up to 25 lbs).
  • Travel: Regional trips (within 90 miles) for meetings, surveys, or construction inspections.
MUST HAVE:
  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of NEC/IBC/NFPA codes.
  • Clean motor vehicle record.
NICE TO HAVE:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project, MicroStation, SKM Power Tools, modeling software ( ETAP, AGi32 or Elum Tools).
  • Experience with electrical testing equipment.
  • Background working with federal, state, or local government agencies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory codes at various government levels.
