Description

Hamilton Connections in Hamden is hiring for an Electrical Mechatronic Specialist in East Haven, CT. This person will assist with maintaining and troubleshooting automated equipment in a cheese production facility, with a focus on conveyor systems and PLC-controlled machinery. This is position Direct Hire!!

Responsibilities

Monitor PLC-based conveyor and automation systems for proper operation.
Troubleshoot equipment faults related to PLCs, sensors, actuators, wiring, and control circuits.
Assist with repairing and maintaining automated packaging/processing equipment as assigned.
Perform routine preventive maintenance on conveyor drives, motors, sensors, and controls.
Support equipment startups, changeovers, and basic programming checks under direction.
Coordinate with production staff to minimize downtime during repairs.

Requirements

Basic understanding of PLCs (ladder logic concepts) and industrial control systems.
Familiarity with common sensors (photoelectric, proximity, limit switches) and control devices.
Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting conveyor/drive-related issues.
Willingness to work in a factory environment (standing, lifting light parts, occasional awkward access).
Ability to read wiring diagrams, ladder diagrams, and basic schematics.

Work Schedule

Pay: 80k Salary moving to 90k after 6-month review of skills and performance
Hours: 40+, semi-flexible 1st shift schedule
