Ballard Natural Gas is looking for an experienced Electrical Manager to lead and grow our residential electrical service division.
This is not just a technical management position. We are looking for a proven leader who understands the residential service industry, knows how to develop electricians, drive performance, create accountability, and grow a successful electrical department.
If you have strong residential electrical experience, previous management experience, and the ability to lead both the people and business side of an electrical operation, we want to talk to you.
Lead the day-to-day operations of our residential electrical service department
Drive growth, revenue, profitability, and overall department performance
Lead, coach, develop, and hold electricians accountable to performance expectations
Monitor key department KPIs, including revenue, average ticket, conversion, productivity, callbacks, and customer satisfaction
Conduct regular ride-alongs, coaching sessions, training, and performance reviews
Ensure technicians provide customers with thorough evaluations, appropriate options, and exceptional service
Recruit, onboard, train, and retain high-performing electrical professionals
Partner with Dispatch and Customer Service to maximize technician capacity and maintain an efficient service board
Maintain strong knowledge of local electrical codes, permitting requirements, inspections, and industry standards
Ensure all electrical work meets company quality and safety standards
Identify opportunities to expand electrical services and increase market penetration
Build processes and accountability that support continued growth of the electrical division
Work closely with company leadership to establish department goals, budgets, staffing plans, and growth strategies
Current Washington electrical license required — minimum O2 license
Electrical Administrator license strongly preferred
O1 license strongly preferred
Previous electrical management or leadership experience required
Strong background in residential electrical service
Thorough knowledge of residential electrical systems, codes, permitting, and requirements in the local market
Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop field technicians
Strong understanding of the business side of residential home services, including KPIs, revenue, productivity, and profitability
Ability to create accountability while maintaining a positive, high-performing team culture
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment
