Electrical  Maintenance Technician
Reports To: Maintenance Manager / Director of Operations

Job Summary

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving industrial electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems throughout the facility. This position supports production by ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems, machinery, and production equipment.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical controls including PLCs, AC/DC drives, servo drives, motors, relays, switches, sensors, power supplies, and 120V–480V (single and three-phase) electrical systems.
  • Assist with the design, installation, modification, and startup of new electrical and automation systems.
  • Provide programming support and troubleshooting for PLC and control systems; PLC programming experience is preferred.
  • Work with plant personnel and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and system utilization.
  • Plan, schedule, and implement approved electrical and controls projects.
  • Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control schematics and blueprints.
  • Use diagnostic and testing equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, voltage testers, functional generators, and precision measuring tools.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and monitor spare parts inventory.
  • Train maintenance personnel in electrical troubleshooting and controls maintenance.
  • Follow OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical, vocational, or certificate training in Electrical Technology or Industrial Maintenance preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial electrician or maintenance experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of 120V–480V industrial electrical systems.
  • Experience with PLC-controlled equipment, drives, motors, sensors, and industrial controls.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb frequently.
  • Lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Available for overtime, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as needed.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
