Position Overview

Stand-By Personnel is seeking a skilled Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician to support a manufacturing operation in Claremore. This position is responsible for inspecting, installing, maintaining, repairing, and testing industrial electrical systems and production equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations.

The ideal candidate has strong industrial electrical and mechanical knowledge with hands-on troubleshooting experience involving control panels, motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, and power distribution equipment. This role is critical to minimizing equipment downtime and maintaining production efficiency.

Required Experience & Skills

• Previous industrial electrical maintenance experience
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical and mechanical systems
• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
• Experience troubleshooting electrical controls, motors, drives, and instrumentation
• Strong electrical diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of industrial wiring and motor controls
• Understanding of Lockout/Tagout procedures and OSHA safety requirements
• Familiarity with NFPA 70E electrical safety requirements
• Ability to work independently and respond effectively to equipment breakdowns
• Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Inspect, install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems and production equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment failures
• Diagnose problems involving control panels, motors, drives, sensors, and power distribution equipment
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce unplanned equipment downtime
• Test electrical systems for continuity, compatibility, operation, and safety compliance
• Replace and install electrical components including fuses, circuit breakers, switches, and related devices
• Install, troubleshoot, and replace Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
• Maintain and troubleshoot industrial instrumentation and control equipment
• Communicate with machine operators and management to gather information regarding equipment faults
• Recommend appropriate repairs and corrective actions
• Respond to urgent equipment breakdowns and help restore production quickly
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair documentation
• Enter completed work into maintenance logs or CMMS systems
• Identify required electrical parts, supplies, and equipment and communicate needs to maintenance leadership
• Follow all company safety procedures and electrical maintenance requirements
• Perform additional electrical and industrial maintenance duties as assigned

Controls & Automation Experience

Technicians may work with and troubleshoot:

• PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers)
• Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
• Industrial control panels
• Motors and motor controls
• Robotics
• Networked sensors
• Instrumentation
• Electrical power distribution equipment
• Switches, relays, fuses, and circuit breakers
• Industrial wiring and electrical circuits

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

• Perform scheduled inspections of electrical and production equipment
• Identify signs of wear, overheating, electrical failure, or abnormal equipment operation
• Complete cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, and electrical inspections as required
• Identify potential equipment failures before they result in production downtime
• Document preventive maintenance activities accurately
• Communicate recurring equipment problems and recommended corrective actions to supervisors

Preferred Qualifications

• Manufacturing or industrial plant electrical maintenance experience
• PLC troubleshooting experience
• VFD and motor drive experience
• Robotics troubleshooting or maintenance experience
• Industrial instrumentation experience
• Networked sensor experience
• Power distribution and industrial control experience
• CMMS or computerized maintenance tracking experience
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting background in addition to electrical expertise

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
• Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, climbing, and equipment access
• Ability to safely use electrical testing equipment, diagnostic devices, hand tools, and power tools
• Comfortable performing hands-on maintenance around industrial electrical systems and production machinery
• Ability to safely perform assigned duties while wearing required PPE
• Ability to work overtime when urgent repairs or production requirements demand

Work Environment

• Industrial manufacturing and production facility
• Regular work around electrical systems, control panels, motors, drives, PLCs, robotics, sensors, and production equipment
• Fast-paced maintenance environment requiring effective response to electrical and equipment breakdowns
• Combination of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, emergency repairs, and electrical installation
• Safety-sensitive environment requiring strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout, OSHA, and NFPA 70E requirements
