Job Summary:
The Electrical Maintenance Mechanic will oversee the performance and maintenance of large production machinery & will be responsible for maintenance activities In both Phase1 & Phase 2 in all departments forging, casting, finishing, and machining operations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs daily line walks in Forging, Casting & Finishing departments.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plant equipment involving checking voltages, changing out bad components, switching out gauges, as well as making camera and software adjustments.
- Program PLCs and diagnose machine faults/failures related to CNC, Servo, AC Motion Controls, related electronic components.
- Performs preventive & predictive maintenance inspections and service on machines.
- Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines. (why why analysis)
- Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently.
- Prepares reports documenting work performed in CMMS system
- Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
- Identifying faults or hazards.
- Troubleshooting system failures.
- Reviewing blueprints to understand wiring placement.
- Testing of electrical systems with megger, voltmeters, and ohmmeters.
- Responding to fault requests.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of electrical & electronics with great problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of schematics and program reading
- Knowledgeable in a variety of machine software, PLC, HMI & Automation.
- Skill & Knowledge of Hydraulic & Pneumatic systems.
- Skill & Knowledge on material handling systems, conveyors, cranes
- Ability & skill to work & handle gases like Natural Gas, Chlorine, Argon, Nitrogen & Oxygen.
- Ability to follow step-by-step procedures.
- Works well independently and with others.
- Good communication skills.
- Organized with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s Degree in Electronics curriculum preferred
- 2-5 years of experience troubleshooting electronic controls in a manufacturing setting
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
- Must be able to visually inspect machines.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb the ladder & reach top of presses & equipment
