PURPOSE:
Effectively perform maintenance repairs and preventative maintenance activities; to ensure efficient production processes with minimal downtime. Facilitate maintenance processes by ordering spare parts, assisting contracted service providers, and communicating with machine suppliers. Provide training and mentorship to US electrical maintenance personnel. Operate as a member of the leadership team to establish a cohesive, efficient working environment that is conducive to achieving company goals.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintenance Duties
- Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance servicing on production machinery, equipment, plant, and utilities; in order to help meet or exceed production, waste, downtime, and quality goals
- Ensure optimal machine settings are implemented to achieve efficient operations
- Maintain the reliability of the equipment to help meet and exceed the facility's goals for quality and production by inspecting, troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical and mechanical problems on all manufacturing equipment in accordance with plant policies and procedures
- Responsible for workplace safety
- Responsible for order and cleanliness of Workshop area
- Perform electrical and information technology systems assembly processes by functional unit. i.e. individual or interlinked machines, atomized production equipment or production lines, etc.
- Wire and connect electrical components. Prepare and lay cables
- Install propulsion systems, sensors, actuators, and converters
- Install switch and control units, linings, and safety devices
- Assemble and program electrical measuring systems, control systems, monitoring systems, and set target values
- Measure electrical indicators; such as voltage, electricity, resistivity, analog and digital signals
- Set machine functions and document operating values
- Compare system parameters to target values
- Optimize settings and programs
- Install, align, dismantle, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and operations equipment for improved reliability and increased production time
- Apply measurement, testing, and diagnostic procedures and identify malfunctions
- Identify causes of malfunctions
- Localize and repair malfunctions; considering interfaces between mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components
- Install spare parts and replace worn parts
- Retool machines and production equipment; replacing technically outdated components
- Assist with the review of maintenance work by sub-contractors; to ensure that tasks are performed properly. This may be service activities performed on-site, or repair activities that require the transportation of equipment for repair.
- Assist with the implementation of new work orders for maintenance tasks
- Support mechanical and maintenance activities; involving the replacement of bearings, drives, pulleys, belts, cleaning oil filters, etc.
- Provide support for special projects required for future installation and expansion plans
- Provide input, support, and manpower to establish a strong foundation of maintenance personnel; having the technical expertise necessary to effectively maintain Sandler's nonwoven production lines
Training Duties
- Assist with the training and development of US employees. This includes maintenance personnel, as well as maintenance activities for production personnel. .
- Assist with the facilitation of a training program for Maintenance employees, contracted service providers, and apprentices that positively reflects the German apprenticeship model
- Mentor new employees and apprentices; to promote positive working habits and skills.
Spare Parts
- Ensure that any necessary spare parts orders are communicated to the Technical Project Manager
- Responsible for maintaining order and cleanliness in the Spare Parts department
- Assess the quality of tools and equipment; requesting replacements when necessary
Process Control
- Perform daily inspection walk-throughs.
- Issue defect reports and lock messages
- Analyze maintenance aspects of test runs that use new raw materials

Position Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
- Formal training in mechanical and electrical maintenance activities
- 5+ years of experience in an electrical maintenance position on a nonwoven production line
- Experience with Siemens, SEW, Lenze, Pilz, IFM, Sick; preferred
- Experience maintaining a production line, preferred
- Profound knowledge in mathematical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and IT systems
- Experience using control and drive technology
- Experience using automation systems
- Experience using a work order system and enterprise resource management programs, preferred
- Expertise in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work in a team
