TAMKO is seeking an Instrumentation Technician at our Phillipsburg, Kansas manufacturing facility. The Instrumentation Technician will perform work activities pertaining to automation, electrical safety, reliability standards, inspection, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement.

Summary of Essential Job Functions To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Understands, participates, and follows all applicable safety standards & programs. Uses electronics and electrical test devices to test equipment for safety and efficiency. Performs electrical repairs on various types of electrical equipment per SOP's and PM's. Including 480Vac, 3-phase and 120Vac, single phase equipment. Read, understand, and generate standard electrical schematics. Creates and modifies PLC and HMI programs. Selects, installs, configures and calibrates industrial instruments and devices. Bends, hangs and runs conduit where needed. Pulls electrical cable and wire in conduit. Transports and stacks conduit and electrical wire as needed. Trains operators on new systems and updates LOTO and SOP information.

Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. Associates degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred. Two to three years related experience and/or training preferred.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to position himself/herself to operate, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or or maintain heavy plant equipment. This may require climbing stairs/ladders, bending, kneeling, crawling, squatting and/or stooping. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and may occasionally lift or move heavier objects with assistance. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work around moving mechanical parts, at elevated heights, where dust and fumes could be present in the air, with or in proximity to chemicals, in hot environments, around electrical equipment, and in a loud environment. The employee must have the ability to understand and mitigate these and other risks, including by following all prescribed safety rules, and must have the ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, if necessary.
