Job Summary

The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Construction Manager is responsible for supporting engineering, planning, and construction activities for E&I projects. This role oversees construction execution, provides technical guidance, ensures compliance with safety standards, and coordinates with project teams, contractors, and vendors to support successful project delivery.


Job Description

  • FEED (Front-End Engineering Design)/Engineering Phase Support:
    • Participate in initial walkthrough with the company Project Team to identify project initial work scope
    • Walkthrough P&IDs, redline as necessary, and create instrumentation project lists (transmitters and critical valve lists)
    • Walkthrough instrumentation scopes of work with OEM (Rosemount - Transmitters, Puffer - Fisher DVCs, Puffer - ATG)
    • Participate in Engineering/Design Meetings to provide design and construction insight to the execution planning
    • Review panel/cabinet fabrication drawings and provide feedback
    • Review E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation) Construction and Networking Issued for Approval (IFA) deliverables and provide comments
    • Contribute to overall project development and execution schedule/work schedule
    • Support project walkthroughs at site with engineering resources and vendors are required per project schedule
    • Represent the company at Hardware/Panel/Cabinet Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs)
  • Construction Phase Support (Pre-Outage/Outage):
    • Walkout Issued for Construction (IFC) package with construction bidders
    • Receive transmitters and DVCs (Digital Valve Controllers) at site
    • Ensure everyone's working safely (everyone has the right to stop work if it's unsafe)
    • Attend and lead morning safety meetings
    • Oversee, direct, and supervise all construction activities
    • Provide technical guidance to construction crews per issued for construction drawings
    • Work with construction crews to redline drawings as appropriate
    • Obtain technical answers to construction crews when questions arise
    • Sign daily timesheets
    • Attend daily meetings with PM to update schedule, provide highlights and next day plans
    • Provide overall E&I Technical Expertise including Startup Support

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a drug screening and criminal background check
  • Work Schedule: 30 hours/week standard (40 hours/week during turnaround, etc. with pre-approval)

 

Pay Rate/Salary

  • $133.00/hr. Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location
