Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Design Engineer Full-Time position
BSEE or equivalent. Licensed Professional Engineer is a strong plus. Position will require an individual to develop and design electrical, instrumentation & control systems, both analog & digital, from concept through final and issued for construction (IFC) design of systems and equipment typically found in commercial nuclear power plants, DOE facilities or laboratories &/or chemical and process plants. This position will also provide engineering design and troubleshooting support during the construction, manufacture, FAT, startup / test and commissioning phases. Experience working within the constraints and rigor of a NQA-1 QA Program and design experience on existing Light Water Reactor (LWR), High Temperature Gas Reactors (HTGR) or Next Generation IV nuclear reactors and especially on the design of reactor control and protection, radiation monitoring and or secondary control systems is a strong plus. Individual should be experienced and skilled selecting instrumentation, preparing design and procurement specifications/data sheets. control philosophy and control narratives, Logic Diagrams, loop diagrams and be experienced reviewing, developing and/or utilizing PFDs, P&IDs, Design Basis Documents, Process Control Narratives Safety Analysis Reports (e.g. PSAR, FSAR) that will be the basis of their design. Experience with PLC Programming is a plus.
This position is primarily a design and engineering position. Along with being able to prepare all design products including calculations the candidate should have strong communication skills both orally and in writing. Candidate should be experienced writing reports and briefings, working with managers, engineers and designers across all engineering disciplines and individuals with various experience levels.
