Field Superintendent
This individual will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the daily activities concerned with the construction of commercial remodel projects from project start through completion. This is a full-time position.
Primary Duties:
- All field operations on project, executed within the working environment that ensures safety of people, equipment, and property at all times.
- Work with project manager in developing and maintaining a workable schedule.
- Enforce safety rules set forth by Company, OSHA, local codes and all governing authorities.
- Promote and enforce a safe working environment.
- Meet with the contractors site contact to familiarize with site and scope of work
- Schedule and meet with inspectors and other building/government officials.
- Work with project manager to resolve errors or conflicts found in drawings or specifications.
- Work out solutions for minor conflicts in the field (example: duct in the way of plumbing pipe)
- Ensure accuracy and quality control of field crew’s work.
- Conduct walk-throughs and prepare punch-lists.
- Supervise temporary labor forces as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical commercial projects
- Must be self motivated and have the ability to work independently.
- Must rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Must have strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
- Must be able to meet high quality standards while meeting aggressive schedules
- Must display strong leadership skills and personal accountability
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively to groups of customers or employees of organization.
· Ability to take and pass code exams as needed.
- Travel - approximately 90% of the time
Education: High School Diploma or GED with preferred vocational or other technical school, certification, training or apprenticeship beyond high school.
Experience: 3-5 years experience with commercial electrical projects required.
Licenses, Certifications or Registrations: Employee must have valid driver’s license if operating a company vehicle or their own vehicle for work purposes.
