Essential Duties and Responsibilities (These key responsibilities represent your core focus areas)Cost Analysis & EstimationTransform project plans, specifications, and addenda into comprehensive, winning cost estimatesExecute precise quantity takeoffs for piping, fixtures, equipment, and accessories using advanced estimating software and proven methodsBuild and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to secure competitive pricingReview Specifications and documents to determine full scopeEnsure accurate and organized recordkeeping of drawings, estimates, correspondence, and other project documentationIdentify scope gaps, inconsistencies, and constructability concernsStrategic Project DevelopmentCreate bid proposals and detailed cost breakdowns that win workCollaborate with project managers, engineers, and designers to optimize scope and eliminate discrepanciesLead value engineering initiatives and recommend cost-saving solutions during pre-construction planningMarket Intelligence & InnovationMonitor market conditions, material costs, and labor trends to maintain competitive advantageParticipate actively in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and job walks to gather site conditions that could affect the bid proposalBuild and maintain comprehensive historical cost databases for analysis on future projectsSolicit, organize, and evaluate vendor pricing for lighting, gear, generators, controls, and specialty equipmentParticipate in ongoing training in National Electrical Code, commercial building and lighting systems, design/build workflows, and estimating methods Required QualificationsFoundation RequirementsEducation: High school diploma or GED required; Completion of Electrical Apprenticeship or similar program, degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field strongly preferredExperience: 3+ years of proven estimating success, preferably in commercial or industrial constructionTechnical Knowledge: Electrical Field and Construction expertise highly valuedTechnical MasteryAdvanced proficiency with estimating software (Trimble, McCormick, Bluebeam, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office SuiteExpert ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specificationsStrong foundation in codes, standards, materials, and installation practicesAnalytical ExcellenceOutstanding mathematical, analytical, and organizational capabilitiesExceptional written and verbal communication skillsSharp attention to detail with ability to manage multiple complex projectsBonus QualificationsExperience with BIM coordination or 3D modelingKnowledge of LEED or sustainable electrical practicesBackground in mechanical systems or construction field experienceWhat We OfferCompetitive compensation with performance incentives tied to business development successOpportunities for professional development and career advancementSupportive team environment that values Respect, Positivity, and Hard WorkThe opportunity to build lasting client relationships while contributing to our 125-year legacy 1901 is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer, celebrating diversity in the workplace.
