Electrical Estimating Manager to join a thriving company in North Houston. The
Electrical Estimating Manager will be responsible for leading the estimating function for complex electrical construction projects, developing competitive project estimates, managing estimating personnel, and partnering with operations throughout the preconstruction process.

Pay Rate: $150,000 $175,000 annually

Electrical Estimating Manager Responsibilities:- Lead electrical estimates from initial project review through final bid submission.
- Manage, mentor, and develop electrical estimating personnel.
- Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements to establish complete scope.
- Develop conceptual, budgetary, design-assist, and competitive bid estimates for complex electrical construction projects.
- Perform and oversee detailed electrical quantity takeoffs.
- Develop labor requirements and manhours based on productivity, project conditions, schedules, and anticipated field execution.
- Prepare comprehensive labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
- Estimate electrical scopes involving medium- and low-voltage power distribution and other industrial electrical systems.
- Evaluate instrumentation, controls, and related electrical scopes as required by individual projects.
- Solicit, analyze, and compare vendor and subcontractor proposals to ensure complete scope coverage.
- Identify scope gaps, exclusions, assumptions, constructability concerns, and potential project risks before bid submission.
- Evaluate project schedules, Client requirements, sequencing, overtime, and other factors that may affect labor productivity and cost.
- Develop pricing for alternate approaches, value engineering opportunities, and constructability recommendations.
- Coordinate closely with operations, project management, procurement, and field leadership during bid development.
- Lead internal estimate reviews and prepare supporting bid and proposal documentation.
- Maintain estimating standards, historical cost information, and labor productivity data.
- Compare estimated costs and labor assumptions against completed project performance to improve future estimates.
- Support the transition of awarded projects from preconstruction into project execution.
Electrical Estimating Manager Skills and Abilities:- Advanced knowledge of industrial electrical construction methods and field installation practices.
- Strong understanding of electrical estimating, quantity takeoffs, labor productivity, manhour development, and material pricing.
- Strong knowledge of medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution.
- Familiarity with instrumentation and controls within an industrial construction environment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, specifications, equipment schedules, and other construction documents.
- Strong understanding of Client planning, project schedules, construction sequencing, and productivity factors.
- Ability to recognize incomplete scope, constructability concerns, and financial risk during the estimating process.
- Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and construction standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and electrical estimating software.
- Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of how electrical projects are executed in the field, not simply how they are estimated.
Electrical Estimating Manager Education and Experience:- 10+ years of progressive electrical construction estimating experience preferred.
- Previous experience as an Estimating Manager, Lead Estimator, Senior Estimator, or comparable senior-level estimating professional.
- Experience estimating large, complex electrical construction projects.
- Background supporting industrial, manufacturing, energy, mission-critical, or similarly complex construction environments strongly preferred.
- Experience with design-build, design-assist, or other collaborative preconstruction delivery methods preferred.
- Previous responsibility for leading, mentoring, or developing estimating personnel.
- Field electrical construction experience or significant knowledge of electrical field operations is highly desirable.
