    Description

    Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill an Electrical Engineer job in Wilmington, MA. This direct-hire job is available with one of our key customers in the Aerospace & Defense industry. In this role, you will collaborate with engineering and operations teams to design and build the next generation of UAS aircraft, working independently or as part of a team to design, build, test, and procure electrical hardware for autonomous vehicles. To be successful in this position, you must have a strong background in PCB design, schematic capture and layout, circuit simulation, prototyping, and electrical testing. Some domestic and international travel may be required.

    Electrical Engineer Job Responsibilities:

    • Work independently or as a team member to design, build, test, and procure electrical hardware for autonomous vehicles, including creating detailed schematics and PCB layouts with proper signal integrity, power distribution, and thermal management.
    • Work closely with Mechanical Engineers to ensure proper form, fit, and function between electrical assemblies, mechanical housings, and cable runs, while collaborating with Software Engineers on embedded firmware and electrical design validation.
    • Troubleshoot performance and integration issues and develop documentation for production teams to set up and test hardware.
    • Plan and conduct thorough testing and validation of electrical systems and components, including functional, environmental, temperature, vibration, and production testing, while helping establish and champion design and testing standards.
    • Collaborate with engineering disciplines to develop new products, support manufacturing and relationships with fabrication and assembly shops, and assist with flight test operations, marketing events, and customer demonstrations.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of post-graduate work experience.
    • Proficiency in PCB design, schematic capture and layout, component selection, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) principles; Altium experience is preferred.
    • Proficiency with soldering irons, crimpers, power supplies, oscilloscopes, and multimeters, including experience soldering and reworking prototype electronics.
    • Experience simulating, prototyping, and debugging analog and digital circuits, including experience with LTspice.
    • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and customer focus, along with strong self-management and organizational skills. Experience or interest in UAS, motor control, robotics, embedded systems, Pixhawk, C/C++/C#, RF design, or FAA Part 107 is preferred. Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
