Responsibilities:
- Design functional, reliable, and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle high voltage electrical systems.
- Perform engineering analysis and design or re-design of electrical systems and subsystems for existing and new vehicles.
- Under close supervision, perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned.
- Support senior engineers in preparing basic plans, designs, computation methods, and reports.
- Collaborate with other engineering or business support disciplines internally and suppliers externally.
- Design electrical parts and components to correct parameters and specifications while incorporating quality, cost reliability, and ease of manufacturing.
- Provide technical assistance for prototype, pilot, or production builds, including resolution of manufacturing problems.
- Process engineering information through change notices, change proposals, and thorough print documentation.
- Regular attendance is required.
Requirements:
- Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with internship experience or six or more months of related work experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Familiarity with programming languages and controls software.
- Familiarity with Controller Area Network (CAN)/SAE J1939 protocol.
- Automotive High Voltage Training/Certification(s).
- Power Electronics and Machines familiarity.
- Energy Storage system familiarity.
