    ThePosition:

    We are seeking ahighly experienced Electrical Engineer/Manager to join our team inNewtown, CT. Our mission is to deliver high-performance ultrasonic productsbacked by superior technology and unmatched customer support. Sonics supports adiverse customer base serving the Liquid Processing, Plastics and MetalWelding, and Cutting and Sealing industries. Sonics utilizes state-of-the-art machinery and design tools tomaintain our cutting-edge approach to research and development. The ElectricalEngineering/Manager position is part of the Sonics R&D Group. Sonics looksto advance the Ultrasonics industry by cultivating an environment that fostersthe spirit of innovation and creativity upon which the company was founded over5 decades ago.

    PrimaryResponsibilities:

    Using variousAnalysis Programs and CAD systems, the Electrical Engineer will:

    ·Oversee the design, development, and implementation of variousengineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, andin accordance with quality standards.

    ·Work closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements andtranslate them into technical specifications.

    ·Produce InnovativeUltrasonic Generator designs that meet cost targets and market requirements.

    ·Design and develop electrical systems to drive piezoelectricconverters/transducers.

    ·Provide Systems Engineering design and analysis.

    ·Create electrical and system models, schematics, printed circuit boardlayouts, and assembly drawings from sketches, notes, or customer suppliedmodels.

    ·Implement and maintain engineering best practices, standards, andprocedures to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the engineeringdepartment.

    AboutYou:

    ·BS in Electrical Engineering, 10+ years’ relevant design and developmentexperience.

    ·Experience with Analog and Digital circuit design principles.

    ·Experience with High Power switching electronics and magnetics fordriving capacitive loads.

    ·Experience with embedded system design including A/D and D/A signalprocessing.

    ·Experience with PSPICE or other modeling software.

    ·Experience with Embedded Microprocessor Development, Design and Softwaretools.

    ·Experience with electronic laboratory equipment and computertechnologies.

    ·Scientific skills and analytical ability to diagnose problems.

    ·Hands-On debug skills of electronic designs.

    ·Knowledge of analog and digital design rules for printed circuit boardlayout.

    ·Ability to interact with outside suppliers and internal departments.

    ·Proficiency in the following computer/software packages including AltiumDesigner, SPICE, Windchill, and Microsoft Office.

    ·Excellent written and oral communications skills.

    ·Excellent technical acumen, with a deep understanding of engineeringprinciples, techniques, and methodologies.

    ·Ability to collaborate on multiple projects with small technical team andother departments.

    ·Strong customer centric focus.

    ·A driven work ethic to solve problems.
