Our client, a consulting engineering firm located in Jacksonville, Florida that provides mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) designs for military, commercial, and industrial projects has an immediate need for full-time electrical engineers or designers with at least one year of facility design experience. The candidate electrical engineer or designer would ideally have experience with power distribution, lighting, and telecommunications design and a thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code. Applicant must possess strong communication and organizational skills and be detail-oriented. They must also have the ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
Electrical Engineer General Duties:
· Design of Electrical Power Systems for Facilities
· Design of Lighting Systems and selection of lighting fixtures and control devices
· Design of Infrastructure for Telecommunications Systems for Facilities
· Performing Engineering Calculations, include electrical load, short circuit, voltage drop and lighting photometric plots.
· Writing Specifications for electrical systems for facilities
· Reviewing Contractor Submittals
· Answering Contractor Requests for Information (RFIs)
Required Skills:
· Highly Proficient with AutoCAD (knowledge of Revit is desirable)
· Proficient with MS Office Suite
· Knowledge of the National Electrical Code, other NFPA codes, and Energy codes.
· Experience using SKM Power Tools is desirable, but not required
· Excellent organizational and communication skills.
· Strongly motivated, well organized, shows professional initiative.
· Takes ownership of assignments, work both independently and as part of the project team.
Experience:
· AutoCAD user: 1 year (Required)
· Electrical Engineering or Design: 1 year (Required)
· Revit user: 1 year (Preferred)
Education:
· Engineers: ABET accredited bachelors degree in electrical engineering is required.
· Designers: Associate Degree is preferred, but not required.
Qualifications:
· United States Citizen (Required)
