    Electrical Engineer IV

    LOCATION: Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL

    JOB STATUS: Full-time

    CLEARANCE: Ability to Obtain Secret

    TRAVEL: 15%

     

     

    Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer IV for the RTC Test and Engineering Services (RTES) Contract supporting the Army Division.

     

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

     

    • Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in the designated technical area of specialization from an accredited* university and 9 years of combined engineering and technical experience, including 6 years of project experience; or a Master's Degree in the designated technical area of specialization from an accredited* university and 7 years of combined engineering and technical experience, including 4 years of project experience; or a PhD in Engineering in the appropriate area of specialization or related discipline from an accredited* college/university and 5 years of applicable experience, including 2 years of project experience, performing engineering, analysis, and related functions in research, development, test and evaluation in support of military equipment and systems. Areas of specialization may include electromagnetics, electro-optics, optical sciences, electronic circuits, modeling and simulation, infrared scene projection, structural analysis, radar systems, high voltage systems, mechanical systems, data acquisition, stockpile testing, HWIL, HPC, or IR scene generation.  Additional specialization requirements:

     

    Electrical –  Experience must include performing research, design, development, test or supervision of the manufacturing and installation of electrical components, or systems for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use; and performing engineering, analysis, and related functions in research, development, test and evaluation in support of military equipment and systems.

    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Government security clearance. (Must be a U.S. Citizen.)
    • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS 

     

    • Design, develop and test analog and digital circuits for high vibe, acoustic, temp and EMI environments.
    • Create and manage PCB layouts, schematics, and fabrication files using EDA/CAD software (e.g., Altium Designer, AutoCad Design etc …).
    • Collaborate with the team to develop and refine requirements.
    • Conduct design reviews and simulations to ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.
    • Develop and execute test plans for validating and debugging prototypes and production hardware
    • Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, test procedures, and reports.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in existing products.
    • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices in PCB design and electrical engineering.
