Support the development of the electrical project scope, schedule, capital cost estimate, execution planning, risks and supporting information related to assigned facility projects during project development. Collaborate with other internal groups within Project Execution, Operations and Shared Services to ensure project requirements are met and incorporated into design deliverables.

$50.00 - $70.00 per hour BOE

Requirements:

• Professional Engineer license.
• 7 + progressive experience in Electrical Engineering system design and commissioning activities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Expertise in 480V and motor controls, VFD’s, medium voltage switchgear, power distribution systems and power industry standards and practices

 
Summary
Oversee the electrical design for facilities associated with expansion and maintenance of capital projects executed by 3rd party firms to ensure compliance with standards, specifications and managed to the project budget and schedule.
Collaborate with other internal groups within Project Execution, Operations and Shared Services to ensure project requirements are met and incorporated into design deliverables.
Responsible for the successful operations of the assigned area with significant corporate financial impact.
Oversee the development and implementation of technical solutions, ensuring efficient coordination of technical resources and with other internal and external stakeholders.

Duties:
Support the development of the electrical project scope, schedule, capital cost estimate, execution planning, risks and supporting information related to assigned facility projects during project development.
Ensures that all electrical facilities are designed in accordance with all regulations, applicable industry codes and corporate standards
Handles the execution of the electrical design deliverables by contracted engineering firm against the project budget and schedule
Reviews and approves electrical design deliverables for example drawings, technical reports and material listing sheets
Reviews vendor materials quotations, evaluate technical bid evaluations, and recommends to the supervisor selections based on technical merit along with price and delivery.
Collaborate with Supply Chain to procure material via internal tools.
Reviews lessons learned from past projects and incorporated recommendations into future designs
Provide technical support to Construction team during construction phases
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers within the team or others based upon technical expertise
Support and lead department initiatives as required
