  Overview:  Electrical Engineer III
Our client is seeking an Electrical Engineer III and help sustain service parts while driving upgrades across elevator control systems. This hands-on role blends electrical engineering and embedded software/firmware expertise to design, test, troubleshoot, and continuously improve components—from HMI devices and power electronics (drives) to door operators and beyond. Requirements:  Electrical Engineer III
  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a comparable field
  • Demonstrated experience in embedded hardware/software/firmware design
  • Experience in electromechanical assembly design
  • Embedded hardware, software, and firmware design experience
  • Strong electrical engineering foundation, including:
    • Analog/digital design
    • Power electronics (drives)
    • Serial communication interfaces: RS422, RS485, CAN
    • Signal integrity
    • Sensor/instrumentation signal conditioning
    • Battery backup and UPS systems
  • Working knowledge of embedded programming languages: C, VB.NET, C#, C++, Assembly, MATLAB
  • Intimate knowledge of communication protocols: SPI, I2C, I2S, UART, CAN, USB
  • Direct PCBA design experience
  • Ability to design custom microprocessor/DSP-based boards for subsystems such as:
    • Button interfaces, touch screens, LCD/TFT display modules, and related electronics
  • Fluency with electrical engineering CAD tools, such as: Altium, OrCAD, KiCad, or EAGLE
  • In-depth knowledge of laboratory and test equipment: oscilloscope, curve tracer, logic analyzer
  • Technical leadership capabilities:
    • Mentor and guide junior engineers
    • Lead critical design reviews
    • Drive structural improvements to engineering processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate closely with repair operations and engineering teams in a closed-loop feedback environment
Nice to Have Skills:  Electrical Engineer III
  • Experience improving legacy designs while maintaining backwards compatibility
  • Demonstrated ability to support dual-sourcing and cost savings activities for electronics
  • Experience designing or supporting functional test equipment for new parts/products
  • Familiarity with investigation workflows for field turnbacks and root cause analysis across electrical/electromechanical/electronic circuitry
