    Electrical Engineer II – Compressor Station Facilities

    Location: Houston, TX
    Work Environment: Approximately 80% Office / 20% Field
    Experience: 2+ Years

    Position Overview

    We are seeking an Electrical Engineer II to provide electrical engineering support for compressor station facility expansion and maintenance capital projects.

    This position will work closely with Project Management, Operations, Construction, Supply Chain, and third-party engineering firms to ensure electrical designs meet project requirements, applicable codes, industry standards, and company specifications.

    The ideal candidate has a solid electrical engineering foundation, experience supporting industrial or facility capital projects, and is comfortable reviewing engineering deliverables and providing technical support from project development through construction and commissioning.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support development of the electrical scope, schedule, capital cost estimates, execution plans, and project risks for assigned facility projects
    • Ensure electrical facilities are designed in accordance with applicable regulations, industry codes, and company standards
    • Provide technical oversight of electrical design work performed by third-party engineering firms
    • Review and approve electrical engineering deliverables, including:
      • Drawings and design packages
      • Technical reports
      • Material lists and specifications
    • Review vendor quotations and participate in technical bid evaluations
    • Provide recommendations based on technical requirements, cost, and delivery considerations
    • Collaborate with Supply Chain to support material and equipment procurement
    • Provide electrical engineering support to field teams during construction and commissioning
    • Work closely with Project Managers to communicate project progress, cost, schedule, and risk
    • Coordinate with Operations to ensure required facility and operational requirements are incorporated into designs
    • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members
    • Support departmental and continuous improvement initiatives as needed
    • Ensure project scope and designs comply with applicable regulatory, environmental, health, and safety requirements
    • Assist peers and senior engineering staff with business initiatives and regulatory/legal compliance

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
    • Minimum 2 years of relevant engineering experience
    • Understanding of electrical engineering principles, codes, standards, and specifications
    • Ability to review and evaluate electrical drawings and technical documentation
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Ability to effectively communicate technical issues and their impacts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time-sensitive project deliverables
    • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Professional Engineer (PE) designation
    • Experience supporting compressor stations, natural gas transmission, pipeline facilities, or similar industrial facilities
    • Experience with capital expansion and maintenance projects
    • Experience overseeing electrical design deliverables produced by third-party engineering/EPC firms
    • Exposure to construction, field engineering, and commissioning activities
    • Experience with vendor technical evaluations and equipment/material procurement
    • Ability to resolve technical issues through the application or modification of engineering standards and previous project experience

    Working Environment

    This role is approximately 80% office-based, working across multiple project teams, with approximately 20% field work supporting project scoping, construction, and commissioning activities.
