Electrical Engineer I
Florence SC
Contract
Pay Range:  $44.61 - $ 49.56/Hr.

Position Summary:  Electrical Engineer I
 
  • Responsible for electrical system product support.
  • Maintains product integrity, evaluates change opportunities, and integrates new component designs into existing systems.
  • Provides support for electronic elevator components and electrical systems.
  • Reads, understands, and creates schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Analyzes complex issues, identifies root causes, and develops solutions.
  • Works collaboratively with mechanical engineers, software engineers, manufacturing personnel, and field personnel.

Responsibilities:  Electrical Engineer I
 
  • Provide product support for existing elevator components and electrical systems.
  • Support PLM engineering activities including needs analysis, functional allocation, architecture development, trade-off analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Lead and perform electrical qualification testing for products and projects.
  • Prepare or support system-level design failure mode and effects analyses (FMEA).
  • Verify requirements and designs through modeling, simulation, and testing.
  • Analyze schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical assembly drawings, and building layouts to identify root causes and develop solutions.
  • Perform hands-on integration, validation, verification, and troubleshooting of pre-production systems and workflows.
  • Support strategic plans, roadmaps, engineering tasks, and testing for electrical systems, services, and features.
  • Support PCB updates.

Required Qualifications:  Electrical Engineer I
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of power distribution, protection, and control systems.
  • Experience with North American electrical codes and standards.
  • Understanding of power components, distribution and protection, controls theory, and applications.
  • Electrical engineering knowledge related to wiring diagrams, system analysis, motors, and control applications.
  • Experience working with suppliers/third parties and code enforcement agencies such as UL, CSA, ASME, NFPA, TSSA, and NEC.
  • Ability to read, understand, and create schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to work across multiple engineering and operational disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications:  Electrical Engineer I
 
  • Experience with ECAD tools such as Cadence, PSpice, ViewLogic, AutoCAD, and E3 Zuken.
  • Experience working with mechanical engineers, software engineers, manufacturing personnel, and field personnel.
  • Knowledge of PCB design.
  • Understanding of PCB assembly and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with test and measurement equipment.
  • Ability to develop product requirements within existing ecosystem constraints and customer expectations.
  • Hands-on lab experience with electrical architecture, embedded software designs, and test equipment.
  • Elevator systems knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
