Role Overview
Our distinguished client, a leading MEP engineering firm, is actively recruiting a driven Electrical Engineer to join their West Chester, Pennsylvania office immediately. This full-time position is central to the design and development of electrical infrastructure, lighting systems, and power distribution networks for a diverse portfolio of commercial and industrial projects. This role offers a flexible hybrid work model, allowing for a balanced approach to on-site and remote duties.
Key Responsibilities
Perform accurate electrical load calculations, fault current studies, and voltage drop analyses to ensure system reliability.
Design and engineer integrated solutions for power distribution, lighting, and control systems tailored to specific project needs.
Guarantee strict adherence to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all relevant local building codes throughout all project phases.
Identify and specify suitable electrical components, equipment, and system architectures.
Produce detailed design documentation, including schematics, drawings, and schedules using industry-standard tools like AutoCAD and Revit.
Author and finalize comprehensive written project specifications.
Review and assess contractor submittals and shop drawings to verify accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Oversee on-site engineering tasks, including conducting site surveys of existing conditions and monitoring construction progress.
Coordinate technical efforts effectively with cross-disciplinary teams, including mechanical (HVAC), architectural, and structural engineers.
Requirements
Must-Haves
BSEE – Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
3+ years of professional experience designing building electrical systems
Experience with power distribution and lighting systems
AutoCAD and/or Revit proficiency
Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
Electrical load calculations, voltage drop analysis and related electrical design calculations
Understanding of MEP systems and construction
Ability to produce electrical drawings, schematics, schedules and specifications
Ability to coordinate with HVAC/mechanical, architectural and structural disciplines
Preferred: EIT or PE license.
