Overall Summary
The Sr. Electrical Engineer assists in design, development, implementation, and analysis of parts, systems and technical processes. Performs engineering design and analysis tasks with standard techniques. Works with mechanical engineering, other electrical engineers, and designers in the preparation of plans, designs, computation methods and reports. Completes engineering projects and electro-mechanical system designs to support the successful development, implementation, and sustainment of new systems and products, or modifications and revisions to current systems and products.
The Sr. Electrical Engineer position offers a variety of engineering opportunities including testing, design, 2D drafting, analysis, and prototyping.
Primary and Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Control system design
2. Power system design, including specifying VFDs, contactors, relays, and other components
3. Develop electrical schematics
4. Develop wiring diagrams
5. Wire harness development, including wire lists
6. 2D CAD design experience required (AutoCAD software experience preferred)
7. Work with mechanical engineers and designers to build 3D electrical enclosure layouts, wire routings, and other electrical-related details (Solid Works experience would be considered a plus)
8. Complete designs and direct technical activities of assigned designers and technicians
9. Use of Product Data Management (PDM) software for revision control (Solid Works EPDM experience would be considered a plus)
10. Create/edit BOMs using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (SAP experience preferred)
11. Familiarity with analog and digital electrical circuits and components
12. Familiarity with electrical component selection and panel wiring
13. Familiarity with communication buses such as RS232/RS422/RS485, CAN bus, and Ethernet preferred
14. Prefer experience with Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) design and development using internal and/or external resources
15. Prefer experience using PCB/electronics design software (Altium software experience desired)
16. Follow standard project management practices
17. Proactively identifies and mitigates risk
18. Works professionally with teammates and colleagues
19. Reports progress and status
20. Completes assigned tasks on time and budget while meeting technical requirements
21. Reviews customer specifications and requirements, and, under direction, develops designs to best support them
22. Implements design to cost, for manufacture, and for assembly
23. Adheres to all quality and safety standards

Years Experience Education Level
Strong performance record as engineer >5 years
full-time professional experience. BS Electrical Engineering from accredited school ; MSEE preferred

· Work is accomplished in a typical office environment with adequate environmental (heating/cooling) control. The noise level in the work environment is moderate due to noises associated with computer equipment and environmental control systems.
· This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets
· Access to operations and manufacturing areas may involve exposure to loud noises, dust, fumes, oils, and fluctuations in temperature

· Light assembly and fitting of manufactured parts as part of protype building or assembly line troubleshooting
