Electrical Engineer - Embedded Systems

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer who can take ownership of hardware design efforts from initial analysis and design through prototyping, integration, testing, and validation. Responsibilities

• Design and develop military-grade electronic hardware, including circuit card assemblies, embedded computing systems, automated test equipment (ATE), and radar-related components.
• Reverse engineer legacy embedded computing and electronic systems to understand existing architectures, interfaces, and functionality.
• Develop modernized replacement designs while maintaining stringent form, fit, and function requirements.
• Create electrical schematics, design documentation, engineering drawings, technical reports, and supporting design packages.
• Perform component selection and support circuit-level design, analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, systems, and manufacturing engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Support prototype fabrication, hardware bring-up, system integration, troubleshooting, and design refinement.
• Develop and execute engineering test, verification, and validation activities to confirm system performance and reliability.
• Identify and resolve technical issues involving embedded electronics, avionics, RF, radar, and related hardware.
• Ensure designs meet applicable performance, reliability, environmental, and military requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute technical recommendations throughout the product-development lifecycle.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on design quality, reliability, manufacturability, and engineering efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of professional electrical engineering experience involving the design and development of embedded computing or electronic systems.
• Experience developing embedded computing systems or electronics for military, defense, aerospace, or similarly demanding applications.
• Strong technical background in one or more of the following areas:
  • Avionics
  • RF systems
  • Radar systems
  • Embedded computing
  • Digital or mixed-signal electronics
• Experience designing, analyzing, testing, and troubleshooting electronic hardware.
• Ability to interpret and develop electrical schematics and technical engineering documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently investigate complex hardware issues.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience reverse engineering electronic hardware or modernizing legacy military systems.
• Experience developing replacement hardware while maintaining form, fit, and function compatibility with existing systems.
• Familiarity with ruggedized electronics and military-specification hardware design practices.
• Knowledge of DoD engineering standards, qualification requirements, and development processes.
• Experience with high-speed digital circuit design.
• Experience with analog and mixed-signal electronics.
• Knowledge of signal processing and RF or radar electronics.
• Experience designing circuit card assemblies and supporting PCB development.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics, or comparable electronic design automation (EDA) tools.
• Experience supporting prototype builds, hardware bring-up, integration, verification, and validation.
• Familiarity with automated test equipment (ATE) development or test-system design.
