    Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer located at the 96th Civil Engineering Group at EGLIN AFB, FL.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

    • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution is required
    • 10+ years of relevant experience
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
    • Proven experience in the design, construction, or maintenance of facility electrical systems, with a strong preference for experience on military installations or in large industrial settings
    • In-depth knowledge of power distribution, lighting systems, and emergency power (generators, UPS)
    • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other electrical engineering analysis tools
    • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

    • Familiarity with Air Force Civil Engineering processes and procedures

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Plan, design, and oversee construction and renovation projects for a wide range of facility electrical systems, ensuring all work complies with industry codes, UFCs, and Air Force standards.
    • Manage the maintenance, repair, and operation of the base's electrical infrastructure, including high-voltage power distribution networks, substations, and emergency backup generators.
    • Develop comprehensive statements of work (SOW), prepare cost estimates, and manage projects from inception to completion. This includes inspecting contractor work to ensure compliance with engineering principles and project requirements.
    • Analyze power requirements for new and existing facilities, including performing load calculations, arc flash analyses, and designing emergency backup power, lighting, and HVAC electrical systems.
    • Develop and maintain plans for emergency repair and restoration of electrical infrastructure in response to natural disasters, major accidents, or other operational contingencies.
