    Job description
    Our client is seeking an Electrical/Electronic Designer to join their engineering and fabrication shop in the Columbus Ohio location. The Designer will be responsible for designing, and programming industrial electrical panels / cabinets based on specifications outlined per custom project.
     
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Rudimentary programing of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and HMIs, Allen-Bradley experience preferred.
    • Work with other team members to test and commission projects.
    • Create electrical drawings and panel designs including bill of materials.
    • Monitor the quality of electrical panels to ensure all workmanship is performed to specifications and standards
    • Perform required unit updates and modifications prior to unit shipment as needed.
    • Control systems must be compliant with best Electrical practices and required codes.
     
    Qualifications and Requirements:
    • Bachelor degree preferred or Associates/technical degree with proven work experience. 
    • Two years’ experience design of PLC based systems.
    • Ability to program and troubleshoot PLC programs.
    • Prior experience designing electrical schematics and panels with AutoCAD or equivalent software. 
    • Ability to work well with a team.
    • Willingness to learn.
    • Strong mechanical skills and aptitude.
    • Excellent organizational, problem solving, and follow-through skills.
    • Ability to follow instructions.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
    • Ability to manage time effectively.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal direction/supervision.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to all work safety policies and procedures.
    • Occasional travel < 5%. 
    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
