Job Description:

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for electrical engineering activities including PCBA ideation, concept generation, design, prototyping, manufacturing, troubleshooting, analog and digital circuitry design, embedded electrical design, and board-level printed circuit design. The role requires strong hands-on experience with Cadence and/or Altium, electrical system debugging and testing, signal integrity, and collaboration with internal and external engineering partners.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop PCBA concepts from ideation through concept generation, design, prototyping, manufacturing, and troubleshooting.
  • Design and develop analog and digital circuitry.
  • Design, simulate, and analyze circuit designs using Cadence and/or Altium.
  • Perform embedded electrical design activities.
  • Debug and test electrical systems using oscilloscopes and other electrical test equipment.
  • Apply detailed knowledge of board-level printed circuit design and signal integrity issues.
  • Collaborate across subject areas with internal and external engineering partners.
  • Provide technical leadership and contribute to conflict resolution and cross-functional engineering activities.
  • Formulate and coordinate engineering approaches to test hypotheses through hand calculations, computational modeling and simulation, empirical testing, and method development as appropriate.
  • Support rigid-flex PCBAs and flex PCBAs.
  • Support integration and control of motors within electrical systems.
  • Work with communication protocols including Bluetooth, SPI, I2C, USB, UART, and USART.
  • Design for electromagnetic compatibility and immunity, electrically fast transients, electrostatic discharge, and related requirements.
  • Apply applicable medical device electrical safety standards including IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-2-2.
  • Support design for test, manufacture, and assembly.
  • Apply design control processes throughout product development.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in a direct electrical engineering role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or similar field required.
  • Dual degrees or advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience with PCBA ideation, concept generation, design, prototyping, manufacturing, and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Cadence and/or Altium.
  • Strong experience designing and developing analog and digital circuitry.
  • Experience with embedded electrical design.
  • Demonstrated ability to debug and test electrical systems using oscilloscopes and other test tools.
  • Strong understanding of board-level PCB design and signal integrity.
  • Strong collaboration, technical leadership, and conflict resolution skills.
