Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer specializing in low-, medium-, and high-voltage power systems. This position will support the reliability, safety, and performance of complex industrial electrical systems and contribute to large-scale capital projects from initial concept through commissioning and startup.

Job Responsibilities

Support the design, installation, testing, commissioning, and startup of LV, MV, and HV electrical power systems
Develop and review electrical designs, equipment specifications, technical evaluations, and engineering documentation
Provide technical support for substations, transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, protective relaying, motor control centers, grounding systems, and power distribution equipment
Read and interpret one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment layouts, and engineering drawings
Troubleshoot electrical system issues and recommend practical, reliable solutions
Coordinate with engineering, construction, maintenance, operations, equipment manufacturers, utilities, and contractors
Support electrical activities throughout all phases of large-scale industrial capital projects
Help ensure electrical systems meet applicable safety, performance, and reliability requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 10 years of relevant industrial electrical power experience; or Trade school diploma with at least 20 years of relevant industrial electrical power experience
Experience with LV, MV, and HV electrical power distribution systems
Experience supporting large-scale industrial capital projects from concept through commissioning and startup
Strong knowledge of substations, transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, protective relaying, MCCs, motor control, grounding, and power distribution
Experience with electrical system design, equipment specifications, technical evaluations, installation, testing, and commissioning
Strong electrical troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to effectively coordinate across engineering, construction, maintenance, operations, OEMs, utilities, and contractor teams
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, and PowerPoint
Experience in steelmaking, heavy industrial operations, manufacturing, or large-scale capital projects is strongly preferred.
