Electrical Engineer

Location: Mossville, IL

Duration: 12-Month Contract

Pay: $43 - $45 an hr

Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite (Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM)

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support legacy electronics platforms through component sustainment, obsolescence management, validation testing, and engineering change activities. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex lifecycle challenges, working across global teams, and ensuring long-term reliability and supportability of electronic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Execute component and system-level sustainment projects for legacy electronic products.
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with component obsolescence, supplier discontinuations, and long lead-time parts.
  • Support last-time buys, alternate component qualification, redesign efforts, and lifecycle planning activities.
  • Own technical deliverables including engineering analysis, documentation, risk assessments, and design reviews.
  • Support engineering change implementation, documentation updates, and design control processes.
  • Coordinate component and system validation activities, including EMC, environmental, vibration, and functional testing.
  • Analyze test data, summarize findings, and provide recommendations to support engineering decisions.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and ensure product continuity.
  • Participate in design reviews, sustainment meetings, NPI activities, and technical discussions with stakeholders.
  • Support compliance and quality initiatives related to regulatory standards and continuous improvement efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 3 years with a Master's degree.
  • Experience supporting electronic hardware products, component engineering, or product development programs.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working on NPI projects.
  • Knowledge of component obsolescence management, lifecycle planning, and sustainment activities.
  • Experience coordinating validation testing and reviewing test results.
  • Ability to work effectively with global and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting legacy electronic products and long-lifecycle platforms.
  • Exposure to electronic control modules, telematics, displays, or embedded electronics.
  • Familiarity with supplier management, engineering change processes, and design control activities.
  • Experience working with compliance requirements, quality systems, and corrective action initiatives.
  • Agile project experience and strong project execution skills.
